The project initiative in Bârlad focused on enhancing cycling infrastructure by designing a dedicated bike lane network and a 1.6 km wooden trail path within a green area at the city’s edge. The project was developed with dual objectives: to support safe, everyday cycling and to offer a recreational space for users to improve their riding skills in a natural setting.

Beyond the core design, our team ensured full integration with the existing urban layout. This included adjusting intersection layouts to prioritize safety between cyclists and pedestrians, optimizing configurations near bus stops, and implementing visual cues to alert motorists to the presence of the new cycling infrastructure. The result is a well-rounded mobility upgrade that promotes active transportation and enriches the urban environment.
